Heat Treater

Under minimal supervision, maintain the high standards associated with Oberg Industries, Inc., and produce accurate high quality tool steeled parts through an in-house metallurgic process by performing the following duties: provides physical and metallurgical procedures for all divisions,
specifies the conditioning of engineering alloys, conducts all operations concerning the strengthening of metal, operates vacuum furnace for air quench materials and endothermic gas operations for oil quench materials, tempers curves associated with each material type, applies the importance of cryogenics with the tempering cycles for stabilization of material, induction brazes similar and dissimilar materials, shrink fits carbide to steel holders, responsible for plating process, maintain a clean and orderly work area, comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to Oberg safety and security procedures, other related duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a standing, sitting, or bent position for 10 hours/day and must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds with control and the employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment. The successful candidate must have the ability to work as a team member, be able to understand operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, be able to travel domestically and internationally, must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations, be able to read and understand blueprints, must possess knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and must be able to work 50 hours per week. High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent experience required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
