Distributed Support Specialist

L1 Distributed Support



Distributed operations specialist ? 2 ? 3 years of distributed compute experience in either/or Windows or Unix.? Associates degree or trade school equivalency required.



Works as a team member to assist in the implementation and support of systems in a production environment. Under the supervision of senior team members, his/her responsibilities will be to track problems according to standards and refers problem to the next level of support if appropriate.



L1 Distributed ? Provides first line remediation support for issues impacting the distributed environment.? 2-3 years of distributed systems administrator experience supporting a Windows and/or Unix environment.? 1-2 years with a degree or trade school equivalent.? The candidate will work on a shift which will share 24 x 7 support coverage which may require weekend and holiday coverage.? There is limited if any on-call support requirement.? The candidate should also have experience with the following technologies:


o?? Windows servers


o?? Unix/Linux servers


o?? PuTTY or other terminal emulator


o?? A working knowledge of network technologies


o?? MoogSoft


o?? Remedy


o?? Strong MS Office and communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
