Cost Accounting Manager

Responsible for the effectiveness of the Cost Accounting system in providing accurate and useful information to management.
Work directly with operations personnel on relevant training/education pertaining to cost accounting system.
Monitor the accuracy of standard costs placed on inventory and assist manufacturing and production personnel in setting standards.
Responsible for the preparation of Monthly Inventory Summary.
Responsible for the application of GAAP to Inventory Processes.
Identification of Internal Control weaknesses in Inventory Process and communication of those weaknesses to the Corporate Controller to facilitate corrective actions.
Responsible for various monthly, quarterly and annual duties related to inventory such as:
Monthly reconciliation of detailed inventory records to the general ledger. - Calculation of the monthly WIP Accrual. - Monthly analysis of all variance and production result account transactions. - Quarterly update of slow moving inventory. - Quarterly update of fixed and variable cost trends. - Preparation of annual LIFO calculation. - Oversight and liaison for external auditors over annual physical inventory.
Analysis of variances, including recommendations to management, regarding action items based on root cause analysis.
Must have a strong working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
Must have working knowledge of manufacturing industry.
Must work well with all customers, internal and external.
Must interact with Manufacturing and Production personnel to analyze inventory transactions.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and on own initiative.
Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to successfully work as a team member to obtain desired results.
Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
8-10 years previous experience in a related field required.
8-10 years of experience working in a manufacturing industry required.
ERP/MRP system experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
